Julie is a Midwest Program Manager for American Farmland Trust, where she manages several of AFT’s Midwest programs. She has a long history of increasing environmental awareness through formal educational avenues and coordinating unstructured monthly meetups. She worked for a diversified organic livestock farmer providing administrative support and developing on-site farm tours and celebrity chef dinners. Most recently, she has worked in public health to broaden stakeholder networks and strengthen community partnerships. Her work included food safety, drinking water quality inspections, and health promotion programming. She has a Master of Science in Environmental Biology and has been a beekeeper for almost 20 years. She lives on a 5-acre farm and enjoys kayaking the Kankakee River and the lakes of Southern Illinois.
