Hailey Joined American Farmland Trust in April of 2024 as a South Carolina Implementation Specialist. In this position, she will collaborate closely with the NRCS, farmers, and landowners in South Carolina, supporting the implementation of Farm Bill programs, offering conservation plans and assistance, and conducting outreach efforts across the state. Hailey was born and raised in North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from North Carolina State University. NC State is where she discovered her love for agriculture, and from there, she emerged with a solid foundation and a deepened dedication to the field. After Graduation, she moved to South Carolina and joined Pilgrim’s Pride as a Broiler Service Technician. At Pilgrim’s, she worked closely with chicken farmers, implementing best practices, improving animal care, and fostering strong, trusting relationships with them. She learned extensively about commercial poultry farming and gained a deep appreciation for the challenges farmers face. She is eager to leverage her experience and passion to support farmers and make a real difference in the agricultural industry with AFT.
