Joel Tatum joins American Farmland Trust as the organization’s first Midwest Solar Specialist, where he will play a key role in implementing AFT’s strategy at the intersection of solar energy generation and farmland conservation, primarily in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. Joel is a Missouri native with 20 years of experience in the agriculture industry. He joins AFT from Harvest Energy Solutions, a solar energy company serving the Midwest, where he developed a successful sales team with over $5 million in annual sales.

Joel lives in Poplar Bluff, MO with his wife and three daughters. They manage a cow-calf operation on Joel’s family farm. In Joel’s free time, he enjoys spending time taking care of his horses, has been active in amateur, college, and professional rodeo (PRCA) all since the age of 16, riding saddle broncs and roping.
