Jamie oversees AFT’s “Farms Under Threat, New England” research report and develops and manages programs throughout New England to address land access barriers for farmers and provide support to conservation organizations. Jamie works to amplify the voices and needs of people of color and indigenous communities and facilitates projects that address historical inequities around land. Before joining AFT, Jamie managed the Farm Conservation Program at Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust where she facilitated the protection of working farms and forests across north central and western Massachusetts, focusing on innovative projects that address farmland affordability, housing, and farmland transfer to the next generation. At Mount Grace, Jamie founded the Greater Quabbin Food Alliance, a regional food systems network that facilitates cross-sector connections and empowers local stakeholders to work together on solutions-oriented projects. Jamie previously served as the land, community, and education director and now serves as an advisor at Agrarian Trust, a national organization increasing land access for the next generation of farmers. She is active in municipal planning and social justice initiatives in her community. Jamie holds a Master of Arts in sustainable landscape planning and design from the Conway School of Landscape Design, a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in environmental studies and international and global studies, and a certificate from The Farm School’s Learn to Farm Program.
